About Dr. Alyssa Krueger
Let me tell your story.
As a freelance writer and editor, my goal is to tell a story – or help you tell yours.
Whether you’re looking for a writer to tell your brand’s or product’s story, an editor to clean up your own writing, or a marketer to help improve your organic traffic, I’ll help you make stories that draw in and resonate with audiences.
My clients benefit not just from my experience as a Senior Content Associate for a growth marketing agency but also from the variety of work experiences I bring to bear on all my work. As a content marketer and recovering academic, I have experience with academic writing and editing, creative writing, copywriting, content writing, and editing. Even within the latter marketing skills, I have a range of experiences writing and editing for:
Law offices
Podiatrists
B2B SaaS companies
AI API platforms
Accounting software companies
HR software companies
Pet food brands and pet insurance providers
Environmental nonprofits
Board game consoles
Luxury real estate firms
Leadership organizations
Wedding photographers
HVAC/heating and cooling companies
Academic publications and academic editing clients
Between all of these experiences, I’ve written or edited a variety of content types, including:
Newsletters
Podcast show notes
Social media copy
Blog posts
Listicles
Product pages/Collection pages
Tech product reviews
Technical blog posts
Academic literary research and writing
Lit reviews
Research articles (for a variety of fields, including various social sciences and business)
Literary study guides
Essays
Book reviews
Between my doctoral degree, teaching experience, and freelance writing and editing career, I have over a decade of experience as a writer, editor, and researcher. In fact, I spent so many years deep in research about James Joyce’s Ulysses that my old (academic) party trick was identifying what episodes (chapters) quotes were from with about 80% accuracy!
I also have experience working with creative writers through my own freelance work and through my work with WTD Press. I’ve provided editing or proofreading support for:
When Time Speaks by Steve Johnson (through WTD Press)
Gods of Song and Salt by Piper Sands (through WTD Press—coming soon)
Exit, Stage Left by Erin Krueger
If you’re interested in copywriting resources, you can check out my freelance writing and editing-focused blog. For a broader range of topics, check out my work on Write. Think. Dream. and on Medium.
Due to my work in the marketing space, I am familiar with AI writing and editing and can work with AI systems when requested by clients, but on a personal level, I understand (and prefer) the value of using my own critical thinking and creative skills. In my own work, I avoid using AI so I can a) maintain and continually improve my own writing, editing, and critical thinking skills, b) ensure high-quality content, and c) experience the joys (and pains, yes!) of using my own brain for creation and problem-solving.
When I’m not helping you share your story or telling my own, I work at Growth Marketing Pro as a Content Manager, and I spend my free time reading, crafting, gaming, cooking, or playing with my cats, who humor my dog-lover habits. You might catch glimpses of them on social media or if you book a video call for your project!
You can reach me through my contact page, LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram.
